Hello All

I have just put this site online.  Briefly, it is an informational website targeted at programmers and web developers.  The emphasis is on in-depth technical information on a range of topics - without irritating advertisements or graphics.  This kind of site is a work continually in progress and there will be a great deal more by way of content in due course.

In the mean time all constructive comment and criticism on what it offers and how are most welcome.

It’s different. I would recommend a darker color scheme, lose the right css column unless you’re going to include something important in those, add gradients, work on the logo, and make the headlines more defined/styled. Basically it doesn’t look web 2.0ish, which is why I said it was different. In fact, despite what I just said earlier, different can be a good thing, because it doesn’t look like your typical web 2.0ish website. In that case, you could remove the text in the background and just leave it as it is.

It feels soooo old fashion, like from the 90s.  Also under firefox it seems to be around 3000 px high, although there is very little content.

Static html? Try using a standard free content management system (wordpress, drupal…)

You may want to work more on your logo.
Why do you have a scroll bar when you don’t need it?
The text is kind of cornered at the top. You should leave more space to breathe.

Make the headlines more defined/styled. I would recommend a darker color scheme.
