Hey alL!  I am working on revamping several tourism sites my company manages here in Colorado. The designs are very outdated.  I need some good tourism sites to look at that would be good inspiration.  I have looked at Tennessee Vacations and have it bookmarked.

I need to apply functionality, web standards, excellent design.  These sites have excellent search engine ranking, however they have 8+ year old designs.  The re-design was held off for years due to being afraid of changing their ranking.  I need to keep this in mind as well.

One site covers many areas within the Colorado mountains, and more are going to be added.  I need a good map inspiration.

So please post for me any sites you believe would be good inspiration.  I want to be original but I want to look at other travel sites that are functional, meet web standards, and have a good design.  I am not impressed with some I have seen so far.

Thanks,

Laura

Ok..let me retry this.

The site http://www.fourteenernet.com (yes its very dated)... I need to redesign it.  I plan on making it with CSS/XHTML so it is web standard compliant.  We are expanding to include other fourteener areas, not just the Chaffee County/Leadville areas listed.  So want a functional regional map.  I want people to easily access parts of the site (lodging, etc)  Also have access to the regions/towns we are adding.

I am stuck here…I do so many “mountain” style designs I want to make this one stand out since it is a source for people coming to our company.

Suggestions are welcome…

Thank you all.
