After being in the awards and recognition business for many years, we’ve decided to take a big step in
creating a site that is more SEO friendly, easier to use and shows thousands of awards off.
Other than the “Custom Awards” section, which I’m still finishing, can I get some feedback on the rest of
this site? I’d like feedback on the graphics, ease of use, design issues and anything that you think
might be valuable to know. I’m looking for a critical eye and honest feedback.

The site:

http://www.awardsideas.com

Also, if you wouldn’t mind checking out our other sites, that’d be wonderful too.

Any and all feedback is welcome!

Thanks,

Dennis,

You have a good collection of products/services that you are offering.

If you are serious about SEO friendly web sites, you seriously need to contact a ‘professional’ web designer.

A ‘professional’ web designer considers all aspects of your web site revolving around

#1 web site design
#2 web site promotion
#3 web site management

Right off the bat, site #1 has 150 issues that need to be addressed; 193 issues for #2; 350 issues for #3.

Once resolved, the SEO aspect,  if you will, can then be addressed.  That is, implementing the site-promotion aspects.

Kind regards and best of luck,
Al Toman

Nice site but a few niggles

Try to validate it using the W3C validator

Also it is a table based layout which is old hat .. try to design it using CSS and layers it will be cooler and will be more accessible :)

Not bad at all. I like that you are using dark red.
I was wondering is your affiliate program through linkshare or commission junction or is it just your own?

eh? nothing wrong with that! why, some of my best friends are ‘niggles’!

like the layout and color scheme - it seemed a bit ‘dated’ quaintly old-fashioned somewhat (which wasnt bad, considering it was an Awards site!):P

pet peeve site REQUIRED Javascript but didnt say so - not everybody runs with JS on, you know!

If your menu tree isnt even exposed unless the client has Javascript on and running, that means most of your content wont be visible to the search engines -there goes your SEO

Nice site to browse around and look at, perhaps even shop!

8/10

(And P.S. I understand about the “Daughter thing” she WAS a selfish little pig! :D

PPS. Had to go back and raise that score from 7.5 to 8! lol
