Which is the best web design company in the world?
Awards aside (many of which are simply opportunities to “charge to be included in our review”) there are tons of criteria and tons of different types of sites and prices of designers. The best Flash designer may not be able to design a solid a search-engine-friendly ecom site. it’s kind of like asking “Who’s the best doctor in the world?” The answer depends on what you need. The best brain surgeon may not be able to treat your heart condition adequately.
As an SEO I focus on my attention on designers who design solid sites that convert and are clean in their code. I’ve has successes witht he following design companies:
Moonrise Productions - Excellent ecommerce sites and social networks. Pricey but extremely good.
Frog On Top - Capable of building complex sites and they’ve developed their own CMS. Very clean sites. I’ve generally used them for more static sites. Not the cheapest but very affordable for the level of design.
Urban Influence - Extremely detail oriented and thorough. I’m not sure what their pricing is like but the work itself is outstanding.
Sites Without Walls - A one woman operation. Hand coded sites and perform very well on the search engines. Excellent design and very affordable.
