@chrisrich - ahhhhhh i see what you did there.

To the original author - depends - mostly 1 link but some sites have a featured “recent comments” box on each page.  I’ve posted 1 comment that ended in 15,000 backlinks before.  Doesn’t mean they’re worth anything though.

Here’s a life to the Search Engine Watch forums - http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/

This is a forum about CSS and web design - not abusing forums for link value.

Dave

thanks for the link that could come in handy. Looking at the top post looks like someone is trying a bit of blatant spamming.

for the record I like to use seoquake (firefox plugin) for finding decent high pr pages.

It is not clearly declared by the Google that how many back-links have been counted but in my experience I got the maximum value of back-links form one domain is up to 5-6. This is in case of Google, for other search engines I don’t have any Idea.

1 post is enough but if you get a back-link from that. And it is very rare that a single post assure you a back-link. So it is recommended to use 3-4 posts on a single domain.

It is worth noting that blog comments that don’t add value to the discussion topic from the blog will be weak as there is far less chance of their longevity as the blog owner deletes comments over time.  Spend time understanding his/her discussion then add an insightful, helpful comment and your efforts should bear fruit.
