Still studying web design but wanted to get some software advice from here.
That’s a very broad question. Which aspects did you mean?
The graphics design, the layout and UI design (which is what “web design” would most likely refer to) or the underlying technical aspects such as programming?
You could do everything but the actual graphics design with a text editor. If you’re serious about it, it makes sense to understand and at least have done some basic work with the underlying technologies before you use tools that make it easier, but hide the details…
