Does favicon matter too much?

I have the site done with joomla and it has its own favicon… Is there a way I could change it to something of my own?

Just replace the png file in the root template.

The fav icon is important if you want your website to stand out. You can use an ico file or a gif file. You can also make a gif animation that will display in Firefox.

If you want people to take your website serious I think it is important to have your own favicon. And it is a nice way to stand out.
