Well as the title says, I’m pretty new to CSS and was wondering if anyone could suggest a few techniques to implement my design using CSS.

Basically, the standard setup - header, footer and two columns. I would like it so that I can make the menu text, rather than image and have the content background vertically repeating. I have roughly had a go at it, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to get the header and content backgrounds working together.

Could anyone point me to any examples where this has been done, or suggest a way I can incorporate the large header?
