I am relatively new to CSS. Sorry if this question has been asked before.
Is there an instance when to use Static positioning Float positioning
Absolute positioning Fixed positioning.  Is there a preference one over the other?

I currenlty have 1 floating column to the right and I am going to add an image to the left side. Any preference in positioning?
