This is my first XHTML valid website so I’m really proud of it..a couple of errors in the css but those will be taken care of soon enough.
What do you guys think? Be honest now !  :)))

Looks pretty good! I like the simplicity and cleanness of it. The content is aligned nicely as well.

There are a couple of things, may I suggest:

My browser window (firefox) wasn’t opened to the full screen when I viewed, so your logo down the side, when I scrolled, said “hole universe”. I would suggest since all of your pages seem to be tall enough, instead of ‘height:100%’ use min-height: (for firefox) and height: (for IE). This way it won’t chop that background-image off at the browser’s viewport height, but will also allow for expansion of content down the page.

The other suggestion that I thought would be kind of neat is if on your thumbnails for work, make those links as well with a rollover (maybe make the border change color or something fun like that). This way the user can either click on the image as a button or the “details” button for more information.

Other than that, I think your site and works are quality!! Keep on designing :)

Looks quite professional I agree. My suggestion is perhaps to spice up the top menu a bit. Rigbt now they look just like regular text links until you move the mouse over them.

Thank you all for your comments….Your critique means a lot ..

jalapenomultimediadesigns : I’ll try and make the changes you suggested .What screen resoultion do you use?I’m also going to add links on the thumbs ( I’m still polishing the whole website, adding, works, etc.:)))

georgec:I wanted to keep it simple, and I did not want any effect on the menu ( actually it’s only 3 links:)) .I spiced up a bit the title bar trying to “reroute” attention to that particular part of the page.Anyhow I’ll think about it and if succeed in comming up with something very simple I’m going to add it to the menu.

My screen resolution is set to 1400x1050. However, I had my browser window quite a bit smaller than that (multi-tasking is fun with lots of smaller windows :) *giggle*). The issue is funny and only will occur when it is necessary to scroll down the page (and only with the background-image). It works the same way with the width:100% if the browser has to scroll horizontally. Basically, the viewport, as they call the “visible” area in the browser window, will cut off anything that is not first loaded into that portion…if that makes any sense. We run into this sort of thing quite a bit at work and if you have a pretty standard height on most of your pages, the easiest solution is to set the “min-height” for firefox and make a conditional IE stylesheet and set “height”. IE will read “height” the same as firefox’s “min-height” property by allowing overflow of content to push down the div (assuming overflow is not set to hidden).

I hope this helps. I really look forward to seeing what fun things you do with the site!

awholeuniverse,

hi—great site—i’m not a web design expert, but in another life, i was a proofreader. you’ve got a few typos.

under “what i do”

under “web design” - “I started… an year ago… should be “..a year ago…”

under “print” - “thourough” should be “thorough”

under “logo”—business cards—add the “s”

also, on your home page—there is a comma that gets thrown to the next line, rather than staying with the word; i can’t see it now because i can’t get to that page—so just check to see if you know what i mean.

Your site is nice but I would suggest adding more details. It will give it a different feel. The green font on the black background doesn’t correspond with the pink font.
