I want to create a menu bar which using images as the back ground to the buttons. then below that i want a large box which i can place text using css in. when i click on the tab(which is an image) and i go to that page the image for that button will change to a different one.

the box below the nav bar of images will hold some large text which i would like to control with css

i am very new to CSS an XHTML so if someone can help me in directing me to a tutorial or code that would be great.

i have tired searching for tutorials but i am unsure what to search for.
