once again we are forced to rummage like homless people through a dumpster to gather of few morsels that turn out to be common sense, horse sense and finally, non sense!

well, on the contrary! The psychological underpinnings of why users do what they do (often in contradiction to what you WANT them to do) is the FOCUS of design!
Indeed, what use is an elegantly tableless and super semantic web page if users dont use it?
The layout of the page, use of colors and fonts, placement and ordering of elements - those are ALL design designs that affect usability and acceptance. The function of a website or webform is not to BE but to DO. However, the article didnt really speak to those issues properly. At the end, it was a somewhat of a ‘teaser article’, never quite living up to it’s potential.
