..funny how Microsoft is excoriated for proprietary features, but when OTHERS do it, its Growing The Web…lol
Bookmark it and comeback in a few years when browsers actually implement this shit.
The thing about this is it is not proprietary. The fact that more than one browser supports these functions and that the specs are out there for any other browser maker to use makes it a standard. It is a new standard, and one that all browsers support yet, but that does not make it proprietary. The fact that the standard is not finished is why it each browser has a different method for calling the property.
The fact that the standard is not finished is why…
Would the fact that it’s NOT finished, preclude us from calling it a “standard”??
more than one browser my ass.. how do all of these unrequested bullshit features help with accessibility and democratization of the web?
You know the client is gonna need some serious horsepower to handle this shit, right?
I say, we already have flash to do all the shit we dont need, why add more?
How about standards that actually HELP ??!
UPDATE: it has been brought to my attention that I used the word “shit” more frequently than is required for civil public discourse.
To those offended by use of the word “shit” please substitute “Poop” or “Rush Limbaugh” or any other suitable epithet of your choosing as befits your sensibilities.
