EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT post and article!
Very thought provocative.
Waay too often, we swallow statistics and numbers like a web wild Monica Lewinsky, not properly giving thought to the mechanisms and rubric behind the products we espouse
Even though the relative numbers of a particular benchmark are good, we have to look past the numbers and examine other things with the benchmark, like REAL WORLD RELEVANCE: is performing this <insert arbitrary CSS dom function here> behavior 1,000 times a relevant real world activity and does excelling in it really help my web site to be faster?
Again, provocative and interesting MUST READ article, if a little bit dry.
(we should have a *recommendation for Best of The Week* button!)
