The last redesign of CSS Drive was just over 2 years ago, so I'm excited to welcome everyone to the new look!

I understand the need for change, but the left alignment feels very uncomfortable :/

I dont understand the “need for change” and the ugly HYPER VISUALLY DISTRACT PEDESTRIAN CROSSING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE PAGE=WTF??? and its used to set the background color as well so you cant even just get rid of it with ADBLOCK or something you have to download greasemonkey and rewrite the 84*#@)ing page!!!

Again, the whole site screams USABILITY FAIL all over!! who’s IDEA is it to have the REGISTRATION area be a dark green box wrapped in another green box with grid lines obscuring it??

The little module header boxes with the pseudo-html comments are so f*king lame like this is some kindergarden website

bizarrely, it looks still very much like the OLD site, except you opened up a barrel of UGLY and GARISH and poured all over! - I hope to God you didnt pay for this monstrosity :(

Hi Mark,

thank you kindly for your feedback. I’m the designer who created this monster, as you put it. I’m sorry to hear that you find it lame and monstrous. I do appreciate your input, however.

Regards,

Maleika

I’m sorry to say, but the new design leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Rockatee does a great job with his design, but this site does not resemble the quality of his work.

Please change it…. and soon!

I honestly think this is one of those designs that will slowly grow on people. When Maleika first showed me the mockup, I was also a little taken back by how “busy” it looked. But the more I looked at it the more I liked its offbeat style. Now, some people will not agree with me, and that’s fine. The fact is the new design is in place, and while I’m open to making small incremental visual changes, it’s hard to imagine going back to the old design altogether.

I’m not a fan I must say, its horrible!

I honestly think this is one of those designs that will slowly grow on people.

If by “grow on people” you mean slowly enlarge like an infected pus filled boil -perhaps! or perhaps this will be the final nail in the coffin that drives people away, never to return as it’s not often you get a simultaneous slap in the face as well as a spit in the eye!

Now, some people will not agree with me, and that’s fine. The fact is the new design is in place, and while I’m open to making small incremental visual changes, it’s hard to imagine going back to the old design altogether.

This is an ominous statement and reflects a hardening of your position, no doubt in response to what you feel are attacks on it! - You have taken the changes to the site personally and thus take personally also, the negative and valid comments against it. :( I would urge you to step back a bit and look more dispassionately at the site , the comments and everything! - It really doesnt look good, for a site that purports to be the aggregator of the best of the CSS world news to look as if it has never read any of the articles it has featured!

In any event, ‘going back to the old design’ is not the worst that could happen - except for some colored and noisy borders and maybe a new logo, THIS DESIGN/LAYOUT IS THE SAME!

The old design wasnt perfect, but I could in a glance, see what was new, what was happening, and get along. Now, the screen in screaming with clutter and I have to concentrate to find something useful. I think a competition would have been better, a community aspect- since this site has more community than a generic ‘css gallery’ maybe you did have an attempt to involve some community - perhaps in the forums BUT I CONFESS I LEFT THE FORUMS NEVER TO RETURN, WHEN YOU PUT IN THAT ELECTRIC BLUE TEXT ON BLACK BACKGROUND! lol

Suggestion: redo from start
get a proper design

Maleika actually admits openly he made this greezy tub of a website? I’d do the ol’ whistle, fold my hands behind my back and walk away like “it wasn’t me” after blowing a silent fart…cause this stinks! eesh! this looks like a “been at it 6 months newbie, using Microsoft Frontpage and a freebie image editor” 11 year old did this!

Just go back to the old site already! this hurts even looking at it!

Jeez it’s not that bad, I like the origionality of it, I like the header and sidebar not too fussed on the footer as the large ‘C’ to me is not to my taste, nicely structured, the other comments did make me laugh a little as they don’t seem to showcase any of their own creations, as a fellow designer you develop a hard skin to silly comments.
Keep up the good work!
