I’m really not sure what to make of this - great potential for good and evil ..should this be placed in the hands of mortal men??
I agree, it’s one of those hard to easily explain features that has the potential to really take off, or just crash land. Something else that comes to mind is Yahoo Pipes- people were raving about how it’s going to be a game changer in the way we consume data, though that didn’t exactly materialize.
setting up an impromptu webserver is just out of the range of the average user - they will then have to rely on a trusted user or application to do that for them - LET THE PHISHING BEGIN!
Expect to see paranoid (and with good reason) IT departments shutting the hell out of ALL browser and HTTP functionality as the security implications of EVERY DAMN WORKSTATION IN THE COMPANY BEING A LIVE WEBSERVER TO THE WORLD take hold!
oh, the humanity!*
*actually, it may be pretty cool - especially if you have this functionality on a mobile device - instead of “Twittering”..or “RSS feeding” you can basically pour out your whole life to the web, in real time! -It’s like a DIARY and a CATHETER/COLOSTOMY BAG all in one!!
umm what?? lol
Not just that, but think of the security issues this raises - it certainly turns “firewalling” on its head -every pc an intrinsic broadcaster? wow .
p.s. You should do an article or post on this Yahoo Pipes thing, I’ve never heard of it before! It was really intriguing, I’m gonna see what I can do with it!
