Design News:
Site Layout Tips
It's a good read to get a general understanding, but I'm absolutely disgusted at the comments made about Freelance Designers there, opinions?

ROFLMAO @ Marks second comment. Oh lordy that guy makes me laugh.
Moni, mark loves you really, we all do, honestly you are a sweetie and don’t change anything you do! Be nice for once Mark lol!!
watshit is full of shit, sometimes.
I think they hit the nail on the head though, maybe it is link bait as Mark pointed out, but is it not true? 13 year olds are calling themselves professional logo designers, people are ripping designs and claiming it all as their own, it’s a complete sham of an industry atm, and im so sad to be a part of it. As a freelancer I have opted to use Escrow too just to save myself from answering 401 questions. Then even if their site is crap Mark, they’re not to blame, it’s those few so called designers giving everyone reason to hate and judge the way they do.
Well I decided to leave my full-on rant on their site. I’d welcome an arsey email or something from them.
The fact is, yes they bring up some valid points but they’re so narrow-minded and don’t argue the points, they just openly slag off freelancers.
To be honest the rest of the post was poor anyway, lots of spelling mistakes and bad grammer. To be honest it struck me that they (whoever they are) don’t have a fucking clue what they’re on about.
Designers need to thicken there skin a bit me say.
Wow… I think by taking a big brush and stroking it over a landscape so wide… this type of post is a total disservice to everybody in the design community—period.
THIS POST is of absolutely no value and should have STAYED ON THE ORIGINATING SITE!!
This merely re-states (and I use the term lightly as it’s so poorly written to begin with) what applies to everything in life whatever the endeavor—BUYER BEWARE! It doesn’t matter whether you are buying auto insurance or whatever you better do some research!!!
Like everybody that goes around neighborhoods posting signs after high winds have blown off shingles on several homes… what… you call ‘em up without checking ‘em out? Let’s hope not!
Kinda like they got loose in the woods, equipped with a machete, blindfolded, and then told to swing a way! Wow, I’m not use to being treated to such ENQUIRER style posts in the design community.
hey man, dont be knocking The Enquirer!
Frankly, The Enquirer is the last bastion of Investigative Journalism!
http://patterico.com/2008/08/08/how-many-more-times-does-the-enquirer-have-to-prove-itself-before-people-stop-dismissing-it/
Besides, I am fully qualified to speak on the subject and with incredible Journalism Credentials, because I recently potted trained a puppy and had to use lots of newspapers!!
Those numbnuts said, “We suggest you don’t hire a designer that does not have a real contact page with address or phone numbers, or office details of some sort.”, while their contact page doesn’t list a phone number or address.

could it be that THEY aren’t designers??
What next, BASTARDS that actually have married parents!?
sorry yoyo, mark is right, contact page rule does not apply to them, they’re none profit so they don’t take money from anyone you know?
Anyway next time ill take marks comments into account when i blog about something along these lines and try harder at finding a productive article, rather than harsh one, suppose i can always link harsh in a comment. :)
They’re not designers. That’s fine. But, I think it’s lame that they’re stating standards for another industry. Standards that they don’t follow themselves.
